Embark on the traces of Jewish life in Innsbruck. The guided city walk spans from the first reports from the Middle Ages to the terror against the Jewish population during the Nazi regime and into the present. A very turbulent history, in which periods of tolerance were often followed by periods of oppression. The tour leads to well-known and lesser-known places in the city center of Innsbruck, which remind us of the lives and destinies of the Jewish population. Through buildings, squares, memorials, and plaques, as well as individual stories, the fluctuating history of the Jews is explored.
Memorials on our way: Monument at the clinic area – Pogrom Memorial at Eduard-Wallnöfer-Platz – Kaufhaus Tyrol (formerly Kaufhaus Bauer & Schwarz) – Herrenasse 1 – Synagogue in Sillgasse, among others.
